The site attracts many newly weds and young people. | When talking about Binh Duong Province in Southern Vietnam, it is impossible not to mention the project on Lac Canh Dai Nam Van Hien, a tourist site imbued with national cultural and historical identities, in Thu Dau Mot Town.Covering an area of 476ha, Lac Canh Dai Nam Van Hien is a complex of temples and shrines, citadels, mountains, lakes, hotels, entertainment areas, a zoo and a piazza. At the centre of the tourist site is the Dai Nam Temple area covering 9ha, the largest temple in Vietnam . The focal point of theTemple is the Kim Dien Chamber with its main compartment dedicated to Buddha, King Hung and President Ho Chi Minh. There is also a shrine dedicated to Mother Au Co, where there is a board bearing the names of 1,039 families of Vietnamese ethnic groups. All statues in Kim Dien Chamber and the statues of national heroes Ngo Quyen and Ly Thuong Kiet outside are gold inlaid. The wooden doors on the four sides of the temple are carved with images depicting the glorious victories of the Vietnamese people in the struggles against the foreign aggressors through thousands of years of history. The Bao Giang River runs around the temple, creating a stunning landscape, typical of the country of Vietnam . Behind the Temple there is the man-made Bao Son Mountain Range with the 9-storey tower, Bao Thap. At the foot of the BaoSon Range are caves and grottos recalling the legends on the Vietnamese people’s roots, from Father Lac Long Quan and Mother Au Co, King An Duong, Phu Dong and the Bach Dang battle to activities of the wet rice civilization. From Bao Thap Tower , visitors can capture a panoramic view of the tourist site. The Truong Thanh wall stretching 13.5km leads to the official quarter of Dai Nam Company and faces a 18ha square, where great events able to accommodate tens of thousands of people can be held. The Truong Thanh wall is also a hotel with 333 rooms. One of the attractions of the tourist site is a zoo covering 22ha, where many rare and precious animals, such as rhinos, yellow tigers, white tigers, lions, antelopes, ostriches and peacocks are reared in a virtually wild environment. The zoo not only provides animal performances but also enhances awareness on environment friendliness and protection. There are also entertainment and amusement areas, a 4-D film theatre, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. Attracting great interest is a man-made lake covering 11.5ha, a swimming pool with waves and a water park. When phase 2 is complete, the tourist site will have a night zoological garden, a casino and a 5-star hotel and will provide the eco-tour services along the Thi Tinh River , satisfying the demands of visitors and tourists. With these facilities, Lac Canh Dai Nam Van Hien holds various national records, including the largest temple, the longest hotel, the longest man-made mountains and rivers, the largest man-made lake, the largest square and the zoological garden having the largest number of rare and precious animals, which was built at the greatest cost (about 200 million USD). The investor of the project is businessman Huynh Phi Dung, a native of Binh Dinh Province . In the initial period of Binh Duong's shift to industrialization, he emerged as a successful businessman. His Thanh Le Joint-Stock Company has developed into Song Than Industrial Zone Development Joint-Stock Company and now Dai Nam Joint-Stock Company. In recent year he has devoted his efforts and ability to realize his dream to build a social welfare project of educational, cultural and historical significance on the land which has nurtured and helped him prosper.
